The white colored silkie is the "normal" orginal color so any others are in their history crossed out to get the variation so can be lighter. The ones they prize for black skin chicken soup are the white silkies because of the darker skin. So with nice feathering and repituable sources, it is not unusual to get a lighter skinned bird.
