I have 7 5 week old chicks, 2 of which are silkies all the rest are standard size. All the other chicks are ready to be outside but the sikies feathers aren't fully in yet and look sooo little compared to the other ones still what age can silkies go outside or I'm just being a woried mom. Thanks

Silkies feathers are thin and.. well, silky! They do tend to look like baby fuzz for longer than other breeds. But, they can go outside at this age, especially since it is warm out. You will be surprised at how tough they really are.

The silkies we had here were the only bantams that would let their little feathered feet touch snow. The others all screamed if their toes accidently touched snow.
