Silkie Feathering

Just hatched some gorgeous little partridge silkies. My first time with this coloring. I just noticed these new feathers this morning. Are these indicators of male feathering?

no, just flight feathers. not entirely pure silkies.

They're either silkie mixes or satins (silkies with smooth feathers), since they don't have silkie feathers.

Partridge is one of the harder colors to get right.. (as I already notice the light beak).

Don't see why it would Still pop up though in the breed. Silkie feathering is recessive so it shouldn't be hiding.

I understand. I've never seen it myself or bred partridge colored Silkies but throughout my breeding project anomalies don't discount what others may have seen or experienced.

According to the article.. it is only dispersed hard feathering on some areas.. and not the entire body.. quote taken from prior link..

"Unfortunately, the Partridge Silkie has a tendency for hard feathering, which means that some of the black feathers on the tips of their wings, or tails, or even on their cute little faces may be hard – or ordinary feathers. This is a fault in the Show Standard and if you see this type of feathering, it is best to exclude those birds from your breeding program."
