Just hatched some gorgeous little partridge silkies. My first time with this coloring. I just noticed these new feathers this morning. Are these indicators of male feathering?

Don't see why it would Still pop up though in the breed. Silkie feathering is recessive so it shouldn't be hiding.Cute baby!
Partridge is one of the harder colors to get right.. (as I already notice the light beak).
This was an interesting and informative article, link follows.. Hopefully it will help. It also describes hard feathering as a fault specifically found in the partridge color Silkies even when pure bred.

I understand. I've never seen it myself or bred partridge colored Silkies but throughout my breeding project anomalies don't discount what others may have seen or experienced.Don't see why it would Still pop up though in the breed. Silkie feathering is recessive so it shouldn't be hiding.
