Santa was worried they would escape. I told him how to hold them, and I was right there next to them, because yes, I was worried that they might start flapping, and catch attention of the dogs. Santa did tell them that they better not escape. He wasn't afraid of them - or if he was, he masked it well.

suburbanchx - I got the silkie eggs from oberhaslikid, had 3 hatch. They are just too cute!!

How did the "official" photos turn out? Santa looks scared poopless to me. We all need to start taking our chickens out in public and demanding equal rights for ALL pets!! Who ever heard of a chicken leaving hair all over the couch? Or attacking innocent song birds? Go chicks go!! I bet all the people who saw your chicks with Santa now have a more enlightened attitude toward pet chickens. Good chick PR!!

Here is the official photo, it turned out good. The "photographer" said " How do you get a chicken's attention" I told her to squeak the dog toy, which she did. The silkie popped her head up and looked straight ahead. And everyone around laughed.
