Silkie Got BB in Bantam show

Julie That is wonderful. Did you only take the two? They look very Sweet & Spoiled.

I love showing. I don't mind the shampoo & Blowdrying. I get a check list system set up and
make an assembly line of it. I took 15 silkies to the last show I attended, thier was a total
of 70 silkies. I only took 5 colors, I got Reserve Champion FeatherLeg. BB - 4 BV -2RV and 3 1st places
15 is the most I will ever take, Thats all that fits in my car LOL

Thanks Melanie. I only took five. I was going to take three whites but they started mollting and didn't look like the same chickens. There were not as many silkies there as I would have liked. YOu have a lot more silkie people up there than down here. Where I was at was OEGB country. One lady came from SC with her fabulous Cochins and one of her Whites got Champion featherleg and a mottled got Reserve champion featherleg. Of course OEGB got show champion. Their were around 700 bantams total. This is the closest sanctioned show near me and it was about 150 miles away. I plan on showing in Lake City, Fl in Jan and we have a show here in Dothan next month that he Auburn University will be sponsering since the bantam club quit doing it last year. I am showing some standards in that one and maybe a silkie or two. This was just my second show
ONe of the judges came and told me he thought my blacks were very good quality as he had shown silkies 10 yr. ago and won champion featherleg at nationals. I can't take the credit though. I bought them from Bobbi Porto.
