We are excited to candle tonight, 2 that had been started with the guineas will hatch next Friday, then rest the following weekend. I am really hoping for the quite large eggs to hatch, biggest I've seen from silkie chickens.

I'm new, this is my first incubation. I'm using the Brinsea Mini Eco. I ordered my silkie eggs from Garry Farm, in Bowdon, GA. I'm currently incubating 7 eggs, all white silkies. I'm totally addicted!! I'm also going with a dryer hatch. Keeping my humidity at 30%. I didn't turn the eggs for the first 3 days & left them fat end up in a carton. Today is day 4 and I candled quick as I took them out of the cartons and laid them flat. Air cells looked good. All are attached. One was whacky shaped, kinda like a saddle. I really hope all goes well! Due date: 5/15/15!!
I go into lock down in two days and it doesn't look like there is much room left in the eggsJust found this thread! We went on lockdown today with 24 silkie babies! Candled last night...nice air sacs, saw a little movement in some but they were quite full do not much to see! Lol this is my first hatch and hubby thinks I'm crazy for trying silkies as my first go around but I'm hoping for beginners luck! Ha
