I just put 12 under a broody

I'm hoping to candle around day 3 and throw out any obvious bad ones since 12 is quite a bit for her to cover

How does it look other than the double air cell? Does it seem to be developing normally? Seems like something may have gone wrong, which is not unusual, but I would just keep watching it to see if it develops.

Today is day 15 and it is moving around and looks like it should all except the two air cells. You can clearly see the dark end, lots of movement and red veins.
I've put it in a small Brinsea incubator by itself so I can look at it without bothering my other eggs.
My plan is to watch it and if it pips, I am going to help it, carefully. I've read a lot about assisting chicks that are in the wrong position or have pipped but couldn't continue. There is no way there is enough air at either end of the egg so I have nothing to lose by trying. I really wanted a partridge silkie so I'm still hopeful.
Lock down is Wednesday and all 12 eggs are doing well! I am so excited!!!! I can't wait to see what kind of chicks hatch... I have several sizzle eggs!

I candled a few of mine this morning and they aren't looking good atall. But I guess I will check again in a few days and see how they look

I have six that are due to hatch on Tuesday. Four looked good last I checked a couple of days ago. The other two were questionable, but we'll see. No matter how many time I do this, I still start to get excited and nervous a couple of days before.

did my 10 day weigh/candle on saturday night, 18 are still viable, man I hope they make it! have a couple with saddle shaped air cells, so who knows, but everyone is growing and moving and their weights are really good, so i'm hopeful! we lock down this next sunday.....

Had another silkie decide to set so I gave her 4 of the original eggs. Will candle this weekend and take out any cleats

ugh, 8 days to go until hatching!!!

this is gonna be a LONG 8 days.... am thinking I will be driving everyone bonkers next week this day, the day BEFORE hatch day!
