@1 Critter Camp ifno others have externally pipped you can open without harming. In hatching 101 thread there is a link to when and how to help mispositioned chixks. Read this BEFORE you open bator and help. Good luck and keep us updated.

@1 Critter Camp how did it go with your wrong end pip? I have heard what @jorey had mentioned, that if they're not externally pipped you should be ok, and if they are have heard of a person putting a warm wet towel over the top of the incubator and themselves and doing whatever needed to be done. I have had no experience with this myself though.... hope all went well!!!

I did get it
I grabbed it quickly and added warm water to the incubator
I made a small hole so it could breath
Then seconds later another one pipped wrong end
I did the same thing
Both are chirping and moving this morning
700

I wrapped each with wet paper towel
So far so good :):)

Anyone know about introducing chicks of different ages to each other? My hatch is due this wednesday (26th) have 18 viable right now, but wanted to do another hatch, am worried of introducing the two hatches to each other..... anyone had any luck with this? as if all went well one hatch would be 4 weeks old when the others hatch.

thinking keep the younger ones separate for a week or two prior to trying anything? anyone had any luck with this at all? thanks!

I have introduced new chicks to others already outside... I've read things like let them see each other in between pens and then place them in the pen at roost time when everyone is already settled down and quiet for the night. Put them together when they have plenty of room so the little ones can get away if needed...
I let mine out when I am home to roam the yard and then at night they put themselves to bed... if after you let them see each other through a wire... then you can let them out at the same time to roam... I haven't had no problems...
I did bring a grown male rooster in and the hens did not like him and they fought... I still have not introduced him to them for breeding but they roam around freely fine. It's taken weeks to get them to just walk around without fighting... next I plan on putting him in the cage at bedtime... he is my only rooster and I need them to get to become excellent friends!
