Silkie head feathers

What is even cooler is that she has slate feet. It is SO HARD to breed out the yellow feet due to the fact the gene is connected with the barring gene. I don't know that they'll ever be able to breed a cuckoo with truly black feet because of that, but the effort is being made to get them darker by breeding them with blacks.

Yeah, they seem to do pretty good until she decides to scratch her head, and then it comes out pretty easily. I like them because they're small and don't weigh much, so she doesn't drop her head because she feels weighed down. I also like it because it's not sticky like a rubber band or something and can get bound up in her feathers. The hard part is getting her to sit still long enough so I can catch the right feathers and put it in place!

Is this going to be the newest silkie fad?

If it is, I'm officially starting a silkie hair band product, slap it up on ebay and everything... I will darn it! LOL

Well anyway, the clippies I got are junk and they don't like them anyway. The little hair bands, well, they don't like the feel of those. They keep shaking their heads. So, I guess I can go buy me some hair tape and see what happens. They have been looking around a lot more when they had the bands in though. But the bands didn't last long.

Blisschick did it take a while to get your silkie used to the clip?
