I have a 3 week old silkie chick who developed this issue over the last week/week and a half or so. It reminds me of wry neck, but I’ve read of similar occurrences in silkies on this site before. I’ve given it 3 days of vitamin E and poultry cell, and while it’s not falling over anymore, I’m hopeful this isn’t a permanent condition. Any idea what’s going on? Might he/she grow out of it?

Here is a link to a video of said chick. He does walk and interact normally, it’s just punctuated by these episodes.

Not completely although she seems to be living a relatively normal life in her little flock.
Interesting! Did you treat with vitamins? And if so, for how long? And it didn’t get better but doesn’t seem to be bothering her or turning into something worse? That would be really good to know. Thank you for responding. 🙏 ❤️

I ended up treating her with the vitamins for about 2 weeks- it didn’t seem to get worse or better. However I ended up rehoming her around that time as well.

I believe she continued the nutridrench but I’m not sure for how long. She sent me an update a few weeks ago of her ranging with some others and she looked normal to me but she did say she bobs her head occasionally- nothing like it was though.

Thank you so much! Such a strange thing. It’s good to know it can get better but maybe not go away and still be ok. Thank you again.

Honestly, I think it was probably some sort of head injury. I think what probably happened is that the swelling went down overtime, but that it didn’t fully heal. I know they are prone to those sorts of things with the way their skulls are shaped.
