When do silkies start laying eggs?

Our silkies have always started laying a bit sooner than our other birds. I've never really kept good track of the weeks, but I think it was around week 21 or 22.

To the contrary, mine always lay later than my other breeds. Most of them are laying by 8 months, but I've had some wait more than a year before giving me an egg. When they'll start greatly depends on their quality and who's line you've gotten. Mine are breeder quality, and they take a while to get going. It seems that hatchery quality birds tend to lay much earlier.
