Silkie Large Fowl

For that Silkie Chick I can give you my email if you want to get into contact with me as well. Also do you have a link to that Indio Gigante breeder I can't find anything.
He's not selling pure Indio Gigantes right now, but he'll probably arrange something for you. I'll get a link.

You'll have to PM me.

I have heard that the Large Fowl variety of Silkies are not shown in the U.S. and so very few keep them. I am trying to compile a list of potential breeders that my friend could buy an LF silkie roo from here in the states. That is to say, a good quality silkie which is 14 inches tall or more and four pounds or larger. She is also a big fan of featherless legs and actually likes six toed varieties so if anyone has a bird they plan to cull for either of these that fits the size category she will be willing to pay extra.

Hi I think I may have purchased a large fowl silkie. I breed the show quality ones and I’m a little disappointed at the new hen I just got. I’m wondering if she’s just a large fowl or a hatchery quality. Her feet/toes are bigger than that of my roos’ . Not a whole lot of feathering in her legs. I really hope this is just the case, not because she’s a he lol. Not even bearded.

Not all silkies are bearded

Yes I am aware but I’m just wondering why her feet and toes are larger than that of my roos’. I’ll take a pic later. She was posted online as “bearded” . The person selling her was posting a different pic online. It was just frustrating cause we drove that far. Do large fowl silkie hens have bigger toes/feet or legs than a bantam silkie roo?

Pictures of the bird please? LF Silkies are my favorite, & are practically the only one's I'd raise.
