Walnut combs are a combination of rose and pea combs.Walnut combs contain the same genes that produce single, & rose combs. The single comb gene is recessive in silkies, & only small 25% of single comb silkie offspring will be produced by both walnut combed parents.
My porcelain D'Uccle X White Silkie mix has a rose comb.
Rose combs can produce single combs occasionally. So if walnut combs are combination of both pea, & rose combs, then there's still the small chance for single combed offspring.Walnut combs are a combination of rose and pea combs.
Any decent line of silkies shouldn't produce or carry single comb genes.
