Silkie Missing LOTS of skin AND sour crop help please? *cw Graphic photo of wound*

Out with the flock for a tiny bit. Still not great at figuring out who is in charge. We tried to steal treats from my dominant hen. Who is thankfully used to teenager antics and is relatively gentle with them as well.

And a second update for the day. Sadly we will likely never see just how cute we are all feathered out. My friend is going to send their partner to retrieve Cece and bring him/her back to the farm. I just hope to hold it over till next weekend so that we get a few more feathers and/or the weather warms up a good deal. It was 60 and windy today and Cece was cold after about 20 minutes outside.

:( I was hoping you would get to keep Cece. S/he is doing so well with you and even seems to get along (supervised for now) with your flock.
I'm sorry to hear that:hugs

I was hoping a bit too, but doesn't seem to be that way and honestly I shouldn't have got my hopes up after all I did say I was going to just rehab it.

In a fit of sadness we did go pick up another for sure pullet. I mean Cece continues to look very little boy like and we can't have boys anyways. So Cece currently has an Easter Egger friend down here in my basement that will remain here with my flock after Cece heads home.

Cece continues to feather out and heal. I haven't heard exactly when they are coming to get him. But I'm not making any noise about him being here where they can see so that I can at least finish rehabbing him. I mean he doesn't even know he's a chicken and he's still missing a lot of feathers so if he goes home to the farm now I feel like I didn't finish my work but out of sight is probably out of mind for my friend who is still out of town. I will simply message them after I have managed to fully rehab a chicken that is ready to be outside full time with a flock.

That looks awesome did S/he recover before you had to give away?

Cece in the dog kennel.
New girl (thinking Mocha for a name but the kids pick the names in the end) in the play yard.
And the flock in the run.

So everyone is talking and I'm making sure Cece isn't feeling chilled by random checks (it's almost 60 and sunny today)
