OK, I misunderstood ,obviously, about pictured birds not both being the parents of your chicks.. Satin silkies have " normal" looking feathers ( meaning not fluffy unbarbed ones,) including the ones on kegs and toes. Satin is the official term for what used to be called Sizzle- that is, smooth feathered silkie , So thats one possibility . I halpen to be very partial to Satin silkies and several of my birds are Satins. They are pretty cool. Also I've never seen feathers like theirs before!!

Whatever your chicks ancestry, they are nice looking ! And being a " mutt" has its perks- uniqueness of course but also mixed breeds of almost any epecies tend to enjoy better heslth with fewer genetically related problems. I This is known as " hybrid vigor". Mother Natures breeding program is far less biased than we humans can be. We breed for looks, for flash, for lots of reasons that have little to do with longterm benefit to the soecies being produced- Mama Nature is sendible and gives those genes a good stirr snd mix before they cook.
