Silkie or Barred Rock egg?

Well, Silkies have been crossed with so many breeds to get different color types, anything is possible these days maybe... Eventually, you will figure it out and can let us know. Try keeping an eye on your birds, observe where they lay, and watch who gets up off of an egg like that. Another individual trait is the shape of the egg. What color is your Silkie hen, anyway?

I'm thinking Barred Rock for now. :)

A possible way to determine who's responsible is to pick each up and feel their pelvic bones (located in the "fluff" ;)). If you can fit at least two fingers between them, they're at point of lay. Any less space than that would rule somebody out.
