Silkie paralyzed, better again. *Sad update Pg.10*

She's going to fast, she can barely move her head now and she's just kinda sitting there in a fluffed up ball.

I'm think I'm just going to put her down.

Can Marek's work this fast? I was in there giving her water less than an hour ago.

Go back and give her more water. Try giving her electrolytes in her water this time, that will help her to perk up. Polyvisol, like Artsyrobin mentioned, helps too. You can pick Polyvisol up at your local nutrition store, and perhaps even the grocery store. I also advise that after feeding and treating, allow her to rest. Be sure that she is isolated form the rest so that they don't catch it.

It definitely sounds like Marek's.

I'd say mareks also. I've dealt with it once, 2 years ago in a brahma pulled. We ended up putting her down. I remember reading somewhere that silkies are more prone to it than other breeds, though I haven't dealt with it in a silkie.

Okay, I haven't done anything drastic yet. I gave her more vitamin water, her condition hasn't changed since last I posted.
She has been resting in a box, it's quiet and warm. I've just never seen something come on so fast, yesterday besides the limp she was fine. I'm watching the others for signs, where could this have come from? We haven't brought in any adult birds or chicks in very long time and even then they were isolated far away from where my Silkies are.

Should I do something for her tonight? Her heads up now but she still doesn't look good.

From what I have read, you could have brought it in on your shoes, clothes etc. I am so sorry your dealing with this, I wish i could give you some more advise.

She's the same this morning but she seemed interested in the food, I couldn't get her to eat any though. I gave her more water and she's back to making a few little noises, should I try to force feed her a bit? Or just wait until she eats? She hasn't eaten since early yesterday.

Ack, feed store and the neighbors, I guess it's possible.

Nobody else is showing signs of anything, the others that were with her are still acting normal.

was wondering how she did overnight, try making a broth of the feed, and see if she will drink it, or put a few drops on her beak
