Silkie paralyzed, better again. *Sad update Pg.10*

that is wonderful! see, my philosophy is if they are showing a fighting spirit, which she obviously is, i give them every chance- which is probably why i end up with the cast offs from the feed store...

The broth will give her nutrients-

She's making her little Silkie noises again and she does seem to be a little more active.

I hope she keeps trying.

Vitamins, electrolytes, she ate this time without me having to stick it in her beak. I haven't been able to get plain vitamin e though.

I had a similar incident, a little BLR bantam was limping one day then down flopping around on the ground they next day, everyone was saying Mereks, but I just did what your doing and kept him warm and he turned right around, now he's fine. I think we determined he had twisted his leg or something and then couldn't get to the feed and water causing him to become very weak. I had another person post on my thread saying they had the same thing happen but it was an ear infection! Hope it's nothing more than that for you!

I'm so hoping it's not Marek's.

If it is, what could I do?
The others aren't showing signs, if she has it won't she be a carrier for life?
Is there any way to tell without a necropsy?

Just read this thread and I am praying that this is not Mareks - hope she keeps improving!

Best wishes
