I have a singular silkie chick, a day old, which should be getting some companions either tomorrow or the next day. He's been exhibiting some rather strange behaviour, as every once in a while he'll catch sight of his toes and then start biting them. However, I don't see anything wrong with his feet - has anyone experienced this before? Do you think he'll stop this when he gets some companions?

That is the way they explore their surroundings and their own body. Just like babies suckling at their own feet and hands.

If you are worried, you can sprinkle some fine oatmeal or millet on darker terry cloth to distract and encourage pecking and eating.

My few day old silkie is doing this to its feet and looks like because new feathers think they are bleeding

In case the incoming feathers start to bleed from the pecking you can use some BlueKote spray which will prevent the chicks from messing further with the feet. Spray the feet of every chick in the same brooder so none will stick out and draw more attention.
It also prevents infection, but be careful and wear disposable gloves as it stains.
