Hi all, I was letting the girls out today and as always my silkie (ling ling) is broody so I have to pick her up and let her out and I noticed her right eye is crusty and a little swollen, kinda like the sleepy look. I noticed the other girls are fine and she's actually not acting any different but I want to get it taken care of ASAP before any of the others get infected. I was told by my feed store to give her Vetericyn and clean it and also to not take her to he vet as they will just take all my money and not have a solution.

Since this is my first time having chickens I would like some help and best advice. Here are some photos for reference

The Vetericyn is good for eyes, and so is Terramycin eye ointment. A warm wet wash cloth rung out, held over the eye for several minutes will help to get the crust off. Hopefully, she just got pecked or got some dirt in her eye, but mycoplasma (MG) a respiratory disease, can also affect the eye. If she gets worse or shows nasal drainage, sneezing, or gasping, I would treat her with some Tylan or oxytetracycline.
