Silkie problems

I have a young silkie pullet that's got a white coating around its ear hole and base of its feathers on its head I've tried to wipe it off but it seems reluctant to come off! Is this normal? The bird is in great health and not showing any worrying signs of being ill! I have four other silkies but none gave this white waxy stuff around there heads!
