Silkie Question for Silkie owners

Hi,
I am wondering how old do the silkies have to be until you can tell if they are bearded? can you tell if they are bearded when they are a day old?

Ok is their at least anyone that can post a picture of a young bearded silkie? I really want to know so that when I get silkie I can tell if they are bearded or not

I would guess you can see a beard fairly early as some advertising on auction will say the young'uns are bearded. I think you might have better response if you go to one of the established silkie thread.Go to the custom search box at top -right side of page and put in " Patridge Silkies-nothing else, - since color doesn't matter regarding bearded or not. Then post your question as a "reply."

you should probably be able to tell whether they are bearded or not when they are chicks. here's a pic of a bearded silkie chick and an unbearded silkie chick
