Silkie Questions

Hey Cara..... The show programs for the New Ulm show are going in the mail tomorrow. They were supposed to go out monday already but got a call from the state vet. Had to pull them all apart and insert stuff. All out of state poultry has to have a current pullorum test within 30 days and vet health certificate within 60 days. I've got 175 programs with labels on ready to go and more upon request. If all else fails, go to www.bcppa.com and you can print one out there. Judges are going to be totally awesome...Eric Kutch, Art Rieber, and James Konecny. Should be lots of silkies there.... I'll know more on exact numbers as registrations roll in. Last year we had 74 silkies and 179 in the featherleg category. I think the year before we had 89 silkies. Since I'm going to have to be in the show office more, I might not be able to run a breed table this year. Our club treasurer (and the guy that normally ran the show) quit a month ago. Our club president will be in Texas that whole week. A few of us are stepping up to keep things running smoothly.

Hi Blaundee-

It comes to mind that George Mihalik - Silkies By George, lives in New Mexico near Albuquerque. His website says he does sell birds. He has awesome birds, you may want to check it out.

George sold all his birds last year

Last time we spoke he said he was thinking of getting a few buff orpingtons for eggs; I told him that then he'd be wanting to breed and show them! He laughed and admitted that that was a concern.

Oh No! Sorry to hear that! I had no idea. I looked up his website before I posted last night and it is still there. I wondered why no one had mentioned him since he lives so close to Blaundee.

I emailed him just yesterday, I didn't see that he had a site. That's too bad that he got out of chickens, but I'm sure he will get back in, they have a hold on a person!!! LOL

Anyone know of anyone else in NM?

I just dropped you an e-mail with an example of the specific form they want. If you know of anyone that is a certified testing agent out there, I have extra copies of this. If you have any questions give me a call.

I'll test her birds for her when she pulls in, what the hell is up with the health cert???? she is not importing them, at that rate you will not get anyone to attend the show. Its not listed in the show catalog. I just cannot see people paying for a vet to do a health cert. Some of the ole guys will not come.
If my NPIP status is not good enough I will go elsewhere.

Deb S. is putting some Lavs under Georges name for the Shawnee show and I am pulling his stock from my pens for him to show. All he has to do is show up. lol
He did ask for some of my standard cochins last time we talked.
