Hi, I have 4 silkies and I know 2 are Roos I am just not sure about my black one. I also have 5 (what I was told were amuericana) but I’m starting to think might be EE. They are not laying yet which I know would be a dead give away but they are also not crowing. Please help! First time chickie owner btw so all advice and info appreciated!

Ah, well that would explain why they are not laying yet. I read EE’s lay closer to 7 months. Guess I have some pretty eggs to look forward too! I can take a picture of my black silkie tomorrow!

Good morning! Here are all 5 of my EE! Hoping all pullets! And also the side pic of my black silkie! has some green in the wings, is that a normal silkie trait or a sign we may have a roo? With the EE what do they breed to make them? I love learning about these babes they are so sweet and so far all get along great in the run.

all the EE are female the black silkie looks male to me...
normally a easter egger is across between a blue egg layer and then any other breed you want.

Thank you, I was leaning towards male on the silkie too! I know my children will enjoy the rainbow of eggs from the EE so I’m glad it’s still a win :)

First egg layed from one of my EE’s! What a great feeling!

(Excuse my lack there of manicure)
