I have 3 silkies - all about 12 weeks. Two have been crowing for at least 2 weeks. One, has a pretty straight-on "cock a doodle". The other sounds like he is being strangled - "arggghhh". The third Silkie has as much comb and waddle as the other two. I haven't rulled out that "she" might be a fellow as well.
What I have read, online, is that Silkie breeders will not attest to the gender of a bird that has not crowed or laid an egg. Is this true?
