Silkie sexing

Just pet quality Silkies. I also have a Rosecomb Silkie cross chick.
Sometimes, not very often with some pet quality silkies you'll get a pullet with a larger comb, rather then small. This can happen with show quality silkies, but it's rare. Depends on the bloodline.

Keep an eye on the comb growth. I was able to sex all my hatchery chicks by 8 weeks. Unfortunately there were 4 girls and 7 boys.

My better quality birds, I had some that I was positive were girls (flat comb) only for them to crow and grow streamers late (5 months).

I understand..:frow
I know it's probably wishful thinking on my part. I'll only keep the Pullets though. I want to make a couple more crosses too and then replace my Rooster. The people I got the Rosecomb and one Silkie Hen from raise show Birds although I just need pet quality.

This one I think is a Cockerel has a vaulted skull too and is acting and looking way different.
