do silkies combs and wattles get red? I thought they stayed black?

Yes in the cockerels they become a deep mulberry red. It's a good way to tell the difference between males and females. Females do not go red.

The comb looks like its starting to turn red. If that's the case it's a roo.

I think that chick is a roo. It has started standing up to a banty hen I have. She seems to be dominant its like they are trying to figure out who is boss!

He looks partidge to me hon. From what I can tell in the photos anyhow. I have one myself. He's about 8 weeks now. Love him tons <3
