silkie sexing

This is the best I have for now. I will try to get better ones later. I have 11 of them lol.

She is the one in the back.

She is the one that looks gray in the pics. I will get better ones lol.

Hmm, for now I would say girl. The only thing that concerns me is her stance in the last pic and how big she is. Give her a couple more weeks. For me, 8 weeks is when sexing can honestly start, 10 weeks is my ideal starting-to-sex age, and after that it gets easier obviously.

I really need to get better at this before next year though, haha. I'm getting a couple more silkies next year and I can NOT have any more roosters, lol!

I agree I think girl but the stance/size does speak roo. I had a silkie that I swore was a rooster. Ended up being a hen she laid about a half dozed eggs and then went broody.

I hope to get silkies again this spring. A hawk took mine.

Thanks! She is fluffier than the rest. I have a couple white hens that are heavier bodied than the others, so It is possible she came from one of them. I really am leaning girl with her. Im am almost positive my two blacks are both boys. I get "kisses" (hand pecked) from them everytime I reach in the brooder. They also have swept back crests and little round combs already. Cute as buttons though. I have been informed the partridge is most likely a girl.
