our big boy.

our special silkies. Think its a girl? We named it sizer beak. Has two beaks

Your cross-beak silkie is a girl! Can she eat okay?

Are you asking what we think of the sex?? Or what they look like?

If sex... in the second post.. I can't really tell with the first one but the comb is really small so I'd guess girl. Second is a boy. Partridge is a girl. And the last one boy.

On looks, well they're super cute for sure! Your little partridge reminds me of my Sunflower :)

(Her crest is usually fluffier but it needs to be washed!!)

Year so far our big male I posted on one o f my first posts is the only one crowing. He is showing the ladys he is learning to mate. The white ones are older then our black ones. Thanks for your help. We got them at a swap meet and are still learning about what to do and what not to do. Anyone got any tips? If sex... in the second post.. So I'm certain that my partridge is a male, based on looks and the fact that he is starting to crow. I'm thinking that my gray silkie is a hen - based on the smaller size, feathers, and comb? Do you guys agree or should I not assume at this point? They are 14.5 weeks old. Thanks!

Partridge is 100% a boy! (Color and size of comb/wattles says everything, but females don't crow so that says it too for sure.)

The gray one... could go either way in my opinion. I thought my splash was a hen for a while.. and so did a lot of other people, until I separated him from my other rooster (who was obvious)... and he developed fully and a lot more quickly yeah. LOL

5 months already... still glows like a photo shopped blob of white in most pictures... very hard to get detail without messing with exposure, then Silkie looks "dull" and Silkie is anything but dull! I'm leaning still toward pullet, and this is more of a glamour shot... rather than a "sexing" shot... although she turned her head just as the shutter clicked and I missed her beautiful blue earlobe. speaking of blue. the blue glow is real, she has blue highlights. if I mess with the color saturation on the photo, she turns electric blue, whereas my white EE and other EE's with white feathers turn peachy... how long does it take for them to "become" what they are? (white was not a color listed for the hatching egg.)

So funny you described your silkie as "her" or "she" many times. Yes, it's a girl. Very nice! In my experience they become what they are between 3 and 4 months.
