silkie sexing

My bf has said if our adopted silkie is a roo he has to go, he is safe until he starts waking the neighbours up at silly o clock. Should I stop kidding myself and stop saying he is still to young to know his sex and just come to terms with the fact he is a roo ? :(

Sorry that is definitely a cockerel.

This is a 5.5 month old silkie. I have another roo it's same age that has been crowing for a while now, but so far not a peep out of this guy/girl. I'll also include a pic of it next to my confirmed roo

I'm leaning toward roo, but I'm super new at this.

@OITNB I do believe your white silkie is a cockerel. I hope I'm wrong, but that comb, those wattles and streamers on it's head looks awfully boyish to me. Sorry

Is the white one less dominant than the darker grey one? If so you can try and separate them for a couple of days to see if the white one crows. Sometimes the less dominant cockerels won't crow when there is a more dominant one with it. At least from my experience. Right now though I have 2 cockerels together and they are both crowing.

Anyone want to help with this one? It's 11 weeks old and right now I have it in with the pullets cause it acts like the rest of the girls and doesn't have a large comb or any streamers yet.
