Here's our new splash boy/girl... What do yall think? It's about 4 months old

What a handsome little man! Not sure about the silkie. Can you possibly get a better picture of the comb and stance of the silkie? Perhaps a closer profile picture of the head as well if possible. It's a QT.

@morganfarms5 hmmm honestly I'm not too sure. Often times you can't really tell until they crow or lay an egg

Is it being raised with other silkies or chicks? If so I would keep an eye on it and see how it interacts with any known cockerels around the same age as it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I do hope you have a pullet

It sounds like Silkies can be a heartbreak breed?

Someone might spend 5-6 months bonding with a silkie and then find they have a roo you can't keep?

I think they are so adorable. I would love to have a Silkie.

I have two Silkies, I am pretty sure I have a pullet and cockerel but just to make sure. One has a very big purple single comb and a large crest and a longer tail then any of my other chickens. I am 99% present sure it's a roo because he has such a huge comb compared to all the others. And he has a pretty big tail compared to my other Silkie. My other Silkie has no crest and a teensy tiny single comb and a very short cotton ball of a tail. I am sure she's a hen. What do you guys think?
