silkie sexing

Splash silkie about 10 weeks. I'm guessing pullet.

Could anyone have flown in there and laid it? I have a hen right now that gives me two eggs a day, about 3 days a week, but she's not a silkie. I've hatched about 50-60 silkies and the coloring and pattern on that cockerel is that of a male if I'm not mistaken. Do you see how the one on the left has similar coloring and pattern to the one on the right? I've never seen a female look like that. I hope it is a girl... if so she's really pretty. This is a boy I hatched with similar color/pattern. He was maybe 4 months old in this picture. He had a really small cute comb too... kinda like yours. I hope I'm wrong and someone that is more experienced with colors and patterns chimes in and corrects me If it's actually a pullet will you be selling eggs at any time? Cause I love the color/pattern :)
She's a partridge. According to that coloration, males should have a rust/red chest (as seen by your pic and the male next to her). Her chest is grey/brown. There is NO way another hen laid the eggs. They were in an isolated coop. Also, I doubt my mix was laying two a day, because they were different colors/shapes/size very consistently. Good ideas though, keep them coming... :) Anyone else have any thoughts??

The one on the right could definitely be a pullet. She has such a small comb compared to the male, and no wattles(at least, that I can see; I'm having a hard time with tiny phone lol)

On her behavior, is she getting picked on, or is she an aggressor? Any new members added to the flock or moving/brooding?

Correct. No wattles. Here's a side view:

Also, here's a pic of the two eggs I was getting in the summer. Like I said, they are different colors, shapes, and sizes, and were always consistently like these two.

Uggh, I seem to have a unisex silkie!! I've always thought she was a girl, based on lack of streamers and her beak shape. During the summer, she laid eggs for a few weeks, then stopped (I am *positive* it was her). Now she crows, has grown some streamers, and I even saw her try to mount my silkie mix hen today!! What gives?? ("She" is on the right in the pic)

I don't see streamers, I see a crest ;).... But the tail is driving me nuts lol... Roo tail, no wattles, tiny comb, pullet coloring, has a roo mullet... And those 2 eggs a day are from different hens...

I still say pullet just because of the eggs. . but crowing? Are you sure it's a crow and not an egg song or just squawking at another bird or something?

Stumper :p

7 weeks old and definitely bigger than "her" sister we got at the same time... The sister also does not have the little "sticks" that suddenly have appeared up top. If you were to keep a Roo, would it be a white one?

@ Rainbow chick That chicken does have streamers and what looks like hackle feathers. But she sure is standing like a girl. I've heard of females that will crow but never a hen that crows and has all the feathering. I would put her and a nest in a dog crate and wait it out. That way you would know if you find an egg and no other hen was able to get in. I have one banty that went WAY out of her way to lay her eggs in my silkie coop. Broke my heart when I realized it was her not my group. I have two roo's and 3 pullets from a batch of 14 silkie eggs I hatched. The coloring on yours is beautiful though either way.
edited because I can't seem to reply properly
