Hi, there!

My silkie chicks are 13 weeks old. I'm starting to get paranoid that I have all roosters and I was hoping for some help sexing them. I have some guesses of my own, but I'm new to chickens, so I doubt I'm correct. (I believe you can click on the pictures to see a larger size.)




Has this one got large wattles compared to the others? It's hard to tell because it's looking away. The others seem like pullets at this stage.

Guys..its so much easier to try and sex silkies if you just post one pic at a time. Try to get a full body, standing side shot

The outline and stance of the bird can be the best indication of sex

Okay, not so much about sex, but is this acceptable comb for a silkie?? What kind of comb is it?

I have to admit everyone here who told me my silkie was a roo was right unfortunately! He crowed twice this morning and will be going to live at his new home in the country this afternoon! He is 13 weeks old.

I'm sorry, Nugget is prob gonna have to go to a new home soon also. He keeps trying to go after me and my dogs. I've tried several things to put him in his place and nothing really works.

What surprises me is he has no roo behavior other than the crow this morning. Supper gentile and passive, going to miss him!
