silkie sexing

Hello! Just got my first batch of Silkies. Previous owner said they were about 20 weeks old. Do you think the larger buff one is a Roo? I hope not, that means I can't keep him. Any other opinions are welcome too! I will try to get better pics later, but they are not socialized and won't come near me yet.

If he is you should know in the morning! Mine were crowing well before 20 weeks!

The others all look like hens to me, but it is a little hard to tell since the pictures aren't close. The buff looks like a rooster, but it also could be the top hen, or leader of the group. There is always a "top hen" in a group of hens so maybe that is why she is standing so upright. If they have a large comb or streamers coming out of their head then that means they are a rooster. Post some more pictures of the Buff's comb and body so we can see him/her better. Good luck with your new silkies!

No crowing yet, thankfully. I am just suspect because it is quite a bit bigger than the others and I thought I saw a streamer. Here are some slightly better pics.

I will have to wrangle it this afternoon and snag a close up. Thanks for the help!

Sorry, I think you have a rooster. If you could a clear shot of the comb that would help, but based on these photos he looks like a boy.
