Marley started crowing today! All I have for him is a splash pullet. Any ideas on offspring colors for this pair and what other color I should add to the flock to cross with him?

Can someone explain why our splash doesn't have " cheek bags" if it is a roo? Are there dominent roosters who develop out more, like in the baboon world?

Because he is bearded. Almost all bearded birds have tiny wattles (the genes are related).

I've submitted these silkies before but still need help identifying my 5 month old buff silkie. He/She is acting like a rooster, keeping watch, acting dominate, sleeps on top of the coop keeping watch, etc... But looks like a hen, rounded crest, soft tail (even softer then my silkie hens (that are laying)), and smaller in size. Although He/she does look like he/she has some streamers coming out the back of his/her head, and his/her hackle feathers are kinda frizzle-y.

His/her round crest. You can kinda see the brown feathers on his/her head that have a different texture to them.

You can see his/her tail feathers are softer then the black one (a hen).

And here you can see he/her is slightly smaller then the other two hens.
