Yes it should be a very quality silkie. Very small comb. Can't see it really at all under the crest. The long strands of feather coming out of the crest isn't new feathers though. I have two other silkie roosters so I'm sure it's streamers coming in. Just the fullness of the crest is also throwing me off.

I had a hen that had the same thing. Till she went broody I was sure she was a rooster haha

I've heard that silkies mature slow.. Onyx is 28 weeks old and has yet to lay an egg.. She is supposed to be a hen and since she hasn't crowed, I'm still assuming she's a girl.. she has no interest in being part of the flock. My husband seems to think she has chicken PTSD, because a coon or opossum got into the coop and ate 5 of her friends when she was 12 weeks old.... I have seen my white silkie roo mount her, but most of the time she gets away. Over the last two weeks her waddles have gotten huge. Please tell me she's a girl..
