So I hatched out a bird a week or so ago that wa a given to by a woman as a silkie.

chick hatched, black skin. Posted on a silkie thread on FB but was told it isn’t a silkie because it doesn’t have 5 toes or feathered legs.
It doesn’t matter to me as they are going to go to my friend. I only do muscovies but wanted to incubate something lol

The lady that gave it to me as a fertile egg said it could only be a silkie and sent photos of her silkies.
So, is this a silkie or silkie cross ? And why. Please.

So, is this a silkie or silkie cross ? And why.
Those look like normal wing feathers to me.
If it has normal feathers, then it is not a silkie.

(I have no personal experience with silkies, so I don't know if the first feathers in the wings of a silkie chick can look normal-- but someone else might know that, and the feather type all over the chick will surely be clear within just a few weeks.)

Two of these three are the parents

Looks like an Ayam Cemani. Does the lady have any of those?
She has Easter egger, copper marans, silkies, red Pyle bantham, Millie and seabright banthams
the egg was a light tan.

Can you elaborate why ? trying to learn
It doesn't appear to have silkie feathers.
It doesn't appear to have the standard silkie shape.
It's hard to see but doesn't appear to have a walnut comb.
I don't see anything that would make me think silkie.
