For the last two weeks I have been nurturing my Silkie hen as she has been getting over crooked or wry neck from being egg-bound. Recently, after force feeding her one night, she was lying on my stomach as I was watching tv. Suddenly, she raised up a bit and began sqwaking and cackling very, very loudly! It was so wierd! She only did it for about 20 seconds, but it was a long 20 seconds! I thought maybe she was about to lay an egg. I'm a newbie with raising chickens. Does anyone know what this means? Was she possibly in pain? She never did lay an egg?
