Silkie Tail Plumage and sexing

Looking at my 3 week old silkie mix babies and I’m noticing a difference in tail plumage and shape.

The first one is looking very rooster-like to me. The feathers are in an upside down V shape, while the second one has a very round, poofy look.

I’ll try to update this as they mature so someone else might be able to use this to sex their own.

Silkies can't be sexed but by DNA or waiting it out until they are 4-5 months old. That said, since yours are mixed, that may change it up, but won't work for pure ones.
