Here is the ALPHA roo at our place. And I do mean it, in every sense of the term! We have over 150 chickens here, and he wins every confrontation. No other roo here will mess with him for more than a few seconds! He is the only bird we have that travels the entire property daily, kinda like a watch dog does .... really! You should have seen that big ol' Heritage Barred Rock rooster run for cover from him ..... you could feel the earth shake.
By the way, that brownish color on him .... that is dirt. yeah, that is what color our soil is. Yukky clay soil.
I am so excited that I can bust!!!
Went to buy a white cockerel from Connie at Premier so that my little Jazz can have a boyfriend, and lo & behold it turns out that she also has a partridge pullet for sale. That is what I REALLY want to start breeding and showing. I have been looking everywhere for partridge Silkies and nobody has them. Well guess what? I am now the proud owner of a little partridge pullet from 1 of the top breeders of Silkies. Go figure. Sometimes good luck just falls in your lap. I don't have pictures yet, but they will be coming soon.
pennie1, Good for you
kathyinmo, I never new silkies had horns, come to find out I have a few. Thank you for the picture of your rooster. What's his name?
