Silkie Thread! Talk about your Silkies and post pics of your Silkies

I noticed the "horns" on a roo I had that acted just like your talking about. He would chase off the dog if she got too close to his girls. He couldn't fly and he couldn't jump very high but he sure could run fast. Try to catch him and it was a waste of time. I would have to go after one of his girls to get him to come after me so I could catch him when he jumped up to spur me. It was all comical to watch really. I would even have to laugh. He earned those horns of his.

I had to post the pics of my newest little ones that hatch overnight last night. I have another working his way out now!
Does anyone know what color that light one might end up being?

Sorry fo so many pics but I almost gave up hope on these guys! They hatched on day 24 and I have one hatching now on day 25.

I am new to silkies. I have seen some pics on here. that have single red combs. I thought the silkie had a dif. comb. I am interested in showgirls. I have a white showgirl, and I have her in with a blue bearded rooster. He is a mean little sucker. He attacks everytime I go in the pen. He was just given to me within the last 4-5 weeks, so I did not raise him. One of her eggs hatched, It hatched on the 22nd or 23rd day, I have had problems with incubators. I blame that partly for my problems. I have another one pipped now. Should start to zip open within the next few hours. This one was put in the bator on 10/6 so this is the 22nd day. My still air bator was around 99.5. I think that is too low. I have another batch in another bator now, temp around 101-102. Humidity right now is around 40. Do I need to raise or lower humidity?

Anyhow my question is, what colors should I get from the mating of a white Showgirl and a blue bearded rooster. The chick is kind of gray with white. It is a Showgirl. I understand I could get Showgirls or Silkies and if they are not showgirls, they will not carry that gene. Is this true? I am very interested in the Showgirls. Also, how do you get the splash coloring on these chicks. I want my flock just for laying and pets. I have mixed breed hens for eggs also, and I raise turkeys for Holidays.

I would love to see pics of Showgirls that anyone has, please.

Thanks,
