Thank you so much. I won't worry about perches at all then. That's easier anyways lol. I will mount the nest boxes @ 6 inches. Is there anything else special you need to provide for a silkie coop and run that is different from normal chickens? Should I try to make the coop low to the ground or will they be able to maneuver steps okay? I cover all my runs with wire topped with shadecloth to keep the hawks out and provide extra shade.
