It does look like barring but it's really patterning. Looks like mom's primaries but in a different color.

This chick is from a partridge mom and blue (or splash?) dad. Haven't quite figured out dad's color. Either a very light blue or dark splash. He may also be lavender.

Here's my little family.

Ophelia, who plays Mommy, and my (I think) cockerel in the background.

He is a cutie, though, isn't he? Very sweet.

My white (I think) pullet. Also very sweet. I hope she feathers out better as she ages, though.

Little group didn't feel like cooperating.

My rooster, Crixus. He wouldn't let me near the others with the camara. VERY protective 'father figure'. Ophelia and the two little tykes sleep in the signature 'silkie pile' and Crix is always on the opposite side, keeping watch at the window every evening. Such a good boy. When I took Ophelia to the fair, he had to take over 'parenting duties' and abandoned his post the evenings she was a away to sleep with the kids.

His face is a little wet. He likes to dip his beard in the waterer.

Now to try an get the condition back on the birds after the heat had melted them to little fuzzy puddles!

Need to weed through the fuzz and clean out the stock to make room for the tons of chicks here!
