I won some eggs from oldtimegator, BBS and I have two chicks that don't look blue black or splash. Yes, very very sure these are her chicks. I wanted to know about them but she told me she don't not have partridge, they look partridge blue to me. I e-mailed her and she just got back to me...

You got to be kidding me, you just got to be kidding me.

The question is what color is this?

The second pictures look like a more true color...is that correct?

I don't have any partridge on my farm. My splash roo is a split lav and I have 2 gorgeous black split/lav hens in that breeding pen. The only colors in that pen are one blue roo, one black roo, the splash roo, the 2 black split/lav hens, 5 black hens and 4 splash hens.

I've never hatched any partridge except from a white pullet before I took her out of the BBS pen. She has been in the white pen for more than 2 months now and I am only hatching pure whites from them.

I don't know unless they are possible lavs with the chipmunk stripes?? Lovely beards!!

The first two pictures are taken in the broody room that have the red light on. The other pictures are the true colors on them. That is why I thought they were blue partridge. I feel like I may have just won the lotto. Time will tell, so when does the strips go away? When the baby fuzz goes away, like the partridge does? This is going to make me nuts. I thought the lavender ones had a hard time hatching. These hatched all buy there self, know problem.

They will change a LOT as their big girl/boy feathers come in and they start shedding their baby down. Time will tell. Please do keep posting pics every week or two so we can see how they turn out.

ok here's a really stupid question but I gotta ask... How on earth do you tell the sex of these birds? My son was given 2 silkies tonight and I have no idea what they are. 1 is white as snow and the other is black and brown. I have no idea about this breed so some help would be greatly appriciated! Maybe I can try to get a few pics posted of them if I can figure out how to do it. Thanks in advance.
