Congrats!!! i cant wait to see pictures!!! wat type of brinsea incubator do you have im getting the eco octagon next month and im sooooo exited

It's the octagon with the humidity pump. Certainly is a breeze to use. I'm just about to transfer yesterday's hatchlings into the brooder. It's cramped in there ....

Silkie lover...your pictures reminded me of why are my silkies so dear to me and it's simply because I watched them all the way from being in the egg to hatching day, teaching them where the water was, to feed...ever since they were tiny little bees. Life has gifted me with them, that's for sure!

Hi everyone..... I am so disappointed

I hatched out BBS silkies that are almost 3 weeks old now. Last night I was in the barn checking on everyone before bed and 3 of the dozen that hatched have a SINGLE comb coming in. Silkies are not supposed to have a pointy single comb. These eggs were purchased online. I will sell the ones with the single comb, but, is this a gene that the rest of the chicks could carry even if they have the right silkie comb (flat, wide and mulberry)?

Hey everyone i am a silkie lover to i was just wonderning what everyone uses to wash there birds especilly my silkies cause i plan on taking them to some shows

On the blue, black, splash, and white birds, I use Clairol Shimmer Lights. It's an old lady shampoo tinted blue/purple for grey hair.
It's what I use on my own hair, if anyone just took offense. Can be found in the beauty supply stores, not too easy to find by me.
I use it as the 2nd wash, just as not to waste it. Love it! And smells good, too.

Precious!

Thank you Workinnanie! She is precious indeed...a precious, spoiled and loved bird that's what she is!

Wondering how she got hurt? I love my silkies as well. My white roo is such a pet. He comes to me and expects me to pick him up and cuddle with him! He takes such good care of his 4 girls! Such fun to watch!
