I feel you! I had one bad Roo last year. He was my largest boy, and I called him Tiny - maybe that's where his anger came from. He flogged me every chance he got. Luckily, my neighbor loved his look and begged for him... I was so glad to see him go!

Hang in there! You never know how they'll turn out. I have an "it" that I am undecided on, but it sure looks like a cockerel to me, but the crest is still so round. However, it looks like some of the pin feathers coming in are a bit longer than the others... But no comb growth at all. My gut says boy. I'll be surprised if mine ends up a pullet, but you never know!! (i'm still holding out a bit of hope, I guess) How old is yours? Mine is about 4 months, and I'm not 100% sure yet. I think a couple more months and you'll know.

They r about CeCe is 2 months and Buttercup is 3 months. Have u ever listed any silkies on byc?

No, I've never listed any silkies on BYC. Up until lately, I haven't had any nice birds! I have some very sweet pet quality (in white)- nothing I'd want to breed or show. But because of them, I discovered I LOVE this breed! I just needed something a lot nicer. But we now have some very nice birds and I'm excited to get started showing with them! A couple of them are going to be 4-H projects for my 7 yr old boy. And I'm hoping to show one or two myself! So this side of it is new for us, and I'm trying to be very picky about what I'm going to breed. We're doing blue, black and splash. I'll have to post a pic of a black pullet I just recently got- she is so pretty!

I think we're going to have so much fun this Spring! I'll need lots of great tips and advice when we really get started with that. My dad raised very nice WCB Polish when I was a kid and we showed those. We were very successful with them and they always did very well. I figured we'd go that route with my kids, and while I do still love them, these Silkies are just so much gentler and sweeter than Polish.

(and fluffier!) And my son doesn't like Polish as much because they are more flighty and "flappy" as we call it. ha!

Three Cedars-- that is a real bummer that people aren't following through on payment! Why on earth do they bid, then?! I just don't understand that at all!

ColleenStuff-- beautiful birds!! Your lavender is gorgeous!

I don't know anything about whats going on, but I will say I noticed a bunch of brand new names (New eggs, no info, no posts, nothing) bidding on auctions this past week or so...and apparently they are the same 1 or 2 people??? Its crazy, its like a joke or a game for someone ??? its crazy and really rude to do that to people who want to buy birds and they outbid them or drive the auction way up and then the buyers aren't hearing anything out of them at all.
