Silkie thread!

I can of course only speak for the EU partridges I breed here. With partridges I intend the ground-color "eb/eb".

Beth G. :

Although I find alot of information to be very helpful, be careful of what you are basing your sexing on compared to other countries.

I have been breeding partridges for quite sometime now and I can tell you that the eyeliner trick does not work on mine here in the US. Take a peak at the pictures I posted on the Partridge Silkie forum.

I got some silkie eggs shipped to me last Friday they arrived. some should be blue, lavendar, and splash is what she said and some come from a Black rooster and the same kind of hens so she isn't for sure what I will get. They are fertile I see veins so I have to wait until the 7th of January to see what they look like. i will be a first time silkie owner.

My daughter loves that the eggs are so small. She is 5 and I showed the kids pictures and my 7 year old son wants nothing to do with them, my daughter fell in love with them. I have never had them and know nothing about them. I would love to at least get a hen and a Rooster out of the 4 that i know for sure that are fertile. We also got some Blue, Black and Splash Orpingtons with the silkie eggs and those are my sons chickens he will be taking them to his 4-H shows, and the silkies will go with my daughter.

Lol! Well you have a little while yet but not long. It'll seem like yesterday you were just putting them in, but it will feel like an eternity in the process. You must post pics the instant they hatch ^^
