Silkie thread!

Well all my silkies are going to a friends house to live and i am having to start over a storm came thru friday causing a tree to fall and damage their coop has nice size hole in roof and forestry will not pay to have it fixed even though it was their tree that fell on it all they say it was an act of god. poor babies getting wet and muddy so the best thing for them and not me is to let my friend take these and start over once i get it fixed in a few weeks. i hate this is happening but i got to do what is best for the chickens and this time the coop will be even better

If your coop will be fixed in a couple of weeks, why are you giving them all away? I know in a pinch I could figure something else out. But I also have a horse barn with stalls that I could throw them in or put up a quick hoop house/run... or figure something out with tarps. Anyway, sorry about that. :(

I'm so sorry you are having to go thru this ordeal!! I sure hope everything works out for the best for you and your peeps!

ty everyone for you kind words they will be leaving tomorrow right now i have a tarp over the roof but rain still getting in and critters can to. my other coop is full of chickens of other breeds and no more can fit there. i do have a goat house but it is only big enough for the 2 goats till we build something bigger. i have nothing i an put them in and clean them up and place them in my house there are 26 silkies. wish i had somewhere to put them and keep them but i dont. my husband is saying 3 weeks to fix the coop but as bad as it is i think it will take longer expecially if we can not get a break from rain.

Aria: If you go to "Where are you/where am I (Southern NY, dutchess county, etc.) you will find NY people that love silkies. Silkies are all I have. I've been breeding them for several years and just got myself some paint chicks that I cant wait to see what become of them and what I can do breeding them to my stock
