Silkie thread!


New babys hatched last week and out popped two more silver partridge/ greys, they look lighter in person :) I don't know much about partridge colors, this is the second time this has happened, last time i though maybe when i bought the hen she had already bread and they were from the previous rooster but apparently not and it might sound stupid but If both parents are black how do I keep getting silver partridge/ greys? :)

It would have to be that one or both parents carry the gene, that is masked by black. Are you getting all silver partridge /grey chicks or black chicks as well?
 
I'm getting both black and grey/ silver partridge, the first group was 3 greys and 8 blacks, the second group is at least 2 greys and i believe 5 blacks. Also, the greys in the first group grew out to have, one with penciling, one without it, and the last one died before it grew out feathers.
