I. Hatched two chicks from a blackroo over a dark partridge and was wondering what they will look like color wise pics are in my default album snoran said black or blue but my chicks have a lot of white unlike a lot of blue or black chicks please guys the mom is mainley black except from gold in her crest neck area and her primaries are brown with black and gold

I've been trying to figure out what makes a good show worthy bird when it comes to Silkies.. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me what to look for? Where would I start if I wanted to take one of my Silkies to a show? I might just want to do that this spring/summer!

I have this little girl, Lila, that I recently brought home. Apparently she is a blue? Pictures were taken almost a month ago when she was 4 months old.




Lila is probably my best bird. Couple of the other ones I have, have extra toes. They came from a farm where there was no breeding program so seems that they ended up with an extra toe here and there.

Any tips for a first time shower would be greatly appreciated! I have no clue where to start or what to do, so I will start by asking questions.

Hey guys, beautiful silkie pics lately and some CUTE chicks
I just stepped up my silkie ownership and bought about 25 birds from Bobbi Porto... I am thrilled.... a thrilled rookie
I am unsure on some of the colors I've got here.... I know I was supposed to get some lavenders and porcelains, but I am having a hard time distinguishing. Some are younger than others, and most of the birds I got were supposed to be splash. Here are a couple birds I am kinda unsure of color-wise.... if ya'll could take a look and let me know it would be nice to know. I've looked at pics of all colors online till I'm blue in the face, but I just cannot be sure and need HELP!!! THANKS in advance!!! (also excuse the dirty feet, it's been raining TONS down here.... THANK GOD!!!)

#4 I can't tell - looks lavender at first but think it may be a splash since I see some stray darker spots

If you go back through this thread, you will find lots of pictures of show winners to help you get a good idea. Full crest, well spaced toes, lots of foot feathering including the middle front toe, wings carried up and tight, very short back, very full tail and cushion, very round over-all appearance with puffed out chest and of course black skin and five toes. And much more!
